Here’s This

Part of the discussion in Bible Study last night centered around how we might comfort and speak to those who have suffered extreme loss–of property, family, livelihood–as a result of the recent storms.  Our brother Jeremy Taylor has very thoughtfully addressed this issue here.  A quote:

Tornadoes, fires, terminal illnesses, lay offs, pop country music, car accidents. To use the cliché, we are – under every circumstance – better than we deserve. Aren’t these “bad” things which happen to sinful man actually merciful when held against God’s just wrath? The question of why bad things happen to good people IS a joke precisely because no one is good but Jesus. The question we ought to ask is, “Why has God been merciful to me?”

Check out Jeremy’s tumblr while you’re at it.  He has posted photos from the Easter baptisms as well as other EPC fellowshipping events.
